It was wonderful to have something to celebrate this week as Stintino Sunset came back to winning ways on Monday at Windsor. She is a hold up filly who always needs luck in running. All the gaps came at the right time and she was only in front a couple of strides before the line under a well judged ride from Dylan Hogan. She is rarely out of the prize money and it is great to get another win for her owners The Stevedores. Corporate Raider also ran that day at Windsor but Dylan seems to think he is paying for his productive spell earlier in the summer and needs to drop a little in the handicap. He will continue to run whilst the ground remains firm and I am sure the handicapper will cut him some slack for his last couple of runs. Spanish Mane and Fen Tiger run at Brighton tomorrow. The ground has gone soft which will suit Fen, he has been running much better and looks sure to go close again. Spanish won't want the ground too soft but it looks a weak race and I am hopeful she can pick up some prize money at least. The only other runners this week are Mrs Meader and Larenta at Bath on Saturday. They both want soft ground and we will keep an eye on the weather in the west country through the week to make final declarations for them. They both have something to find on recent form but haven't had ideal conditions so they will each have a little chance if the ground doesn't dry out too much. This years yearling sales are well under way and it was great to strike early and pick up three yearlings at the Tattersalls Somerville Sale. This tends to be a more affordable sale and not have such inflated prices as some of the Book 1,2 & 3 sales have. The Just A Hunch partnership managed to secure a lovely filly by Sergei Prokofiev to replace the much missed Notre Dame. Shares are still available in her and she is a half sister to our own Rusheen Boy who won two races as a two year old. Head over to the ownership page for more info. We also bought Queen's Company's half brother by Bated Breath. Shares sold out in him quickly and he is related to loads of winners. The third yearling was a colt by A'Ali, he has plenty of Group form in the family and looks a cheap purchase at just 5,000gns.
