With the yearling sales all but over we managed to secure 5 yearlings which is more than most years, mainly because the sales turnover has been much lower this year making horses much more affordable. Most of them are ownered up but there are still a couple with shares remaining. We have a lovely big filly by Masar, out of our own winner Divine Queen. I always enjoy training offspring of mares I have trained as they often show the same traits and it is easier to know what conditions they may want at the races. Full details are on the ownership page. On there is also our little rocket by A'Ali, he is bred to be an early 2 year old and is already ridden away and cantering. He can be seen on the gallops video below. We had only a couple of runners this week with Eager Puccini making his debut at Southwell last Thursday. He has been a bit of a slow burner and I was unsure if he would get to race this year but his homework had been pleasing and he did not disgrace himself on the track. Hopefully he can have another run before having a winter holiday. Mrs Meader ran disappointing at Newbury yesterday. Ross said she never picked up and wasn't herself. She has been a bit in and out this year, we will have to see if there is another race for her before the turf season finishes as she doesn't enjoy the all- weather. We have a fairly busy week coming up with runners. Fen Tiger has been knocking on the door for a while. He runs at Leicester on Monday and it would be great for him to win this race again after winning it a couple of years ago. On Thursday One For Harvey and Rusheen Boy head to Chelmsford. They will both have great chances and have been unlucky with bad draws recently. Heer's Sadie will be staying local on Friday at Newmarket. She has had another great year but this will probably be her last run of the season before a deserved winter holiday. Stintino Sunset and Leon Trotsky will be taking each other on at Southwell on Saturday. Hopefully the race will divide as they both should have each way chances. There is still just shy of 2 weeks left in the Three To Follow competition with it finishing on 9th November. Hopefully plenty more points are still to be scored, good luck!
