I can't believe we're into July already and thankfully the weather has cooled off a little after getting very hot in the middle of June.
We've had bits and bobs of rain which has been very welcome to settle the dust and to get some juice into the ground so conditions aren't too firm.
It's still a bit quick on course for a few of our horses who have run recently but it has been safe ground so a run on it hasn't harmed them even if it's not optimum for them to perform their best.

We have a few entries this week and firm ground shouldn't trouble a couple of them.
First up will be Heer's Sadie at  Brighton on Tuesday. She postponed her retirement when getting back in the winners' enclosure last time. The win came a bit out of the blue so it's hard to know whether she will do it again but she seems in good form at home still and has the same jockey on board so fingers crossed she can back the effort up.

Another looking to win consecutive races will be Corporate Raider who goes to Yarmouth on Thursday. Blinkers and making the running seemed to be a revelation last time so fingers crossed it can do the trick again as he has been full of confidence since then.

Alibaba needs conditions to be just right to run at Sandown on Friday and his last run can be forgiven as it was a bit too firm for him and he got very wound up before the race so wasted a lot of energy. That can happen sometimes when one of ours goes down the road to Newmarket so it wouldn't surprise me if he bounced back to form.

We will have a couple of weekend entries with Hurricane Kiko at Chelmsford on Saturday and Smokey Malone at Lingfield.
Kiko won at the track last year but hasn't shown the same form since so we're hoping a return to the venue can see him run better.
Smokey is very reliable and will likely run his usual honest race with a win coming if things go his way.
