We had a blank week of runners last week and it was just as well because I am still without my horse box which is in the garage for repairs. It has been nightmare ever since I bought it brand new in 2017 and after major repairs last year, the same parts faulted again so it is all in to be replaced, thankfully under warranty. The major disruption though is not having the box to use as it means we have to hire a box for runners and just simple things like transporting horses locally becomes an issue.
The parts the garage had been waiting for arrived from Italy on Friday so hopefully things can get progressing this week but I won't hold my breath!
I didn't declare our two runners at Brighton on Tuesday as the ground has gone soft and I don't think it would have been ideal for either of them.
That means our only runner for the week will come on Thursday with Smokey Malone heading to Chelmsford. Jockey Dylan Hogan has been dying to try him over a bit longer trip and he gets that chance now. He looked like it was worth a try last time so it'll be interesting to see how he goes.
