A big thank you to everyone who came along to our Owners' Weekend this weekend and we were blown away by the turnout considering it was quite late notice and the first time we had done something like this since the Covid pandemic.
It was fantastic to see so many faces, old and new, and it was great that everyone got along so well and made some new friends.
This will definitely be an annual fixture in the calendar and we will try to coincide it with racing at the July Course so people can make even more of a weekend of it. We had around 60 people for the barbecue on Friday evening which had John in a panic to cater for so many but everyone was fed and watered so no complaints there. We had a good crowd too to come to the yard and the gallops the following morning and we were blessed with a beautiful, sunny day which made it a pleasure.
This kicked off a busy week for us with Alayna & Ross' wedding taking place at the yard on Saturday so thank you to everyone who very kindly gave them a gift at the barbecue.

Despite later events, we will be still out racing earlier in the week with a few runners.
At Brighton on Tuesday we will be double-handed. Spanish Mane looked a bit unlucky at the track last week and, since she has come out of it in good form, we thought we could let her run again. Hopefully she can be a bit closer to the pace this time and come with a late rattle at the right time.
Arpina will be heading down to the south coast with her and she'll be trying to break a string of second places. She deserves to win a race and the change in track might help her do that. It remains to be seen if she has the stamina for one mile on this course but she'll give it a good go from the front.

The other runner for the week will be Three Beauz making her debut at Yarmouth. She is a strong-looking two-year old filly who was bred by her owner and this will be a good learning experience for her.
