There were plenty of good efforts from the team this week as we squeeze in a few last runs from the all-weather squad before the turf horses are back to full fitness. Corporate Raider has only had two runs for us since we bought him and he went very close to winning at Lingfield on Friday, just missing out in a three-way photo. He has done well for a step up in trip and it won't be long before he is winning. The post-race report for N.E.T. Racing Club members can be read HERE. Even though he finished last, the best result came from Alibaba who made his racecourse return having had 18 months off the track with a tendon injury. We knew he would need the race badly to improve his fitness so it was no surprise that he got very tired inside the final furlong but the good news is that he has come out of the race in one piece and we will gradually bring him back to winning form this season. The week ahead is a quiet one with just one entry for us but the authorities must be expecting the cold snap we are forecast to force some jumps fixtures to abandon as they have added an extra flat meeting next week to fill the void. Hopefully it won't be too cold next week and fingers crossed it will be the last cold snap until next winter. The sole entry for the week is Engrave in an apprentice jockeys' race at Chelmsford on Saturday. Her last run was very below par considering she was in top form before then but maybe the race came too soon after the previous one so she's had a few weeks off to freshen up and hopefully she can get back to her usual good form at Chelmsford.
