It was another solid week of results with a winner thrown in too. It has been a good few years since we had a two-year old winner but that's mainly because we never have many two-year olds to run!
Last year we made a concerted effort to buy a few more yearlings and that has resulted in a good bunch of juveniles who have been running with credit this season.
Hurricane Kiko wasn't our sharpest one but he has improved as time has gone by and he managed to win a race of his own after a third and a second on his two previous starts.
His race at Chelmsford on Wednesday turned into a bit of a penalty kick in the end with the favourite withdrawn for misbehaving in the stalls and another well fancied runner refusing to race but you've still got to go and win and luckily he did.
There was the added plus of it being a bonus race so owner Carol Bushnell received a £10,000 voucher to spend at the yearling sales as well as the prize money. A good day's work!

There were two good runs the following day at Yarmouth too with Fen Tiger filling second spot and Heer's Sadie pinching fourth place. Both horses would prefer softer ground so it was a good day given the conditions.

There are some horses who don't handle the firm ground very well so it has been a frustrating time with them waiting for some rain. Mrs Meader and Initiate both had a couple entries this week but both tracks are still firm so the wait goes on with them.

There's no ground worries for Engrave at Chelmsford on Tuesday as she's on the all-weather. She loves it at the course but is probably a better horse in the winter. She's fit and well at home though so should still give it a good go.

Youdidntdidyou has had three career runs and now has a handicap rating. She's been given a pretty low one so hopefully she can start to show something against her own level of competition at Chelmsford on Sunday.
Also that day we have The Mouse King at Southwell. He seems to run best on the all weather so we'll keep him to that and he deserves to win after a couple of solid efforts in defeat.
Since Alayna & Ross' wedding a month ago we've had plenty of people asking to see the video from the day so please find it below. Some great memories come flooding back from a perfect day!
