We only had one day's racing this week but it was a busy one with four runners at Chelmsford. We always seem to have the biggest turnout of owners wherever we go and this was no exception with half of the very large owners' and trainers' marquee taken over by us! It is great to have such good support as going racing is a major part of owning horses and it is good that everyone can enjoy a day out.
All four horses ran well with Queen's Company looking unlucky in fourth place on her first run back after a small injury. This was a very encouraging return and she definitely has a win in her soon.
Engrave and Fen Tiger both filled the frame in second and third place and Engrave in particular looks ready to win another race or two at Chelmsford this winter.

This was likely to be Fen Tiger's last run of the season before having a winter holiday and he joins a good few of the team who are enjoying a break. We still have a handful horses for the all-weather though and there are plenty of youngsters to get going so it's definitely not a quiet time in the yard.

All the yearlings are now ridden and had their first look of Newmarket Heath on Saturday as you will see in the video below. They've all behaved very well so far and it will be a case of bringing them along slowly as they learn the ropes to being a racehorse. Some already look a bit sharper than others at this stage but a lot can change between now and the beginning of the turf season next spring.
