Things have definitely been feeling a bit more spring-like recently yet the impending threat of a 'beast from the east' chill seems to be lurking in the media so we won't get too optimistic but it certainly makes life a lot easier now it is a bit warmer and the ground has dried up.
Saying that, it has been a while since we had any rain so a bit would be welcome. Dry spring seasons have become a bit of the feature in the UK in recent years with firm ground at the start of the turf season a common sight. It makes planning the campaigns of the horses a bit trickier but we will see what the weather brings.

We're on the all-weather for a good few weeks though until the grass racing kicks off again so there are no going issues until then.
Just two entries for us this week, starting on Thursday with Smokey Malone at Southwell. He probably needed the run last time after having a holiday and if he is a bit fitter this time, he should finish closer at a course he has won at before.

The other entry for there week is Stintino Sunset at Lingfield on Friday. Again, she wasn't beaten far last time and looks ready to win when things fall right for her. She remains in good health so another prominent showing should be on the cards.
