In what is becoming typical of the British weather, we had an 'all or nothing' experience with the rain after six inches fell in just six hours on Tuesday and left a lot of flooding around the area, thankfully none of it damaging. We definitely needed some rain but a steady amount overnight would have suited us instead of the soaking we got whilst working!
The rain was a help to Cabrini's chances at Yarmouth on Wednesday and she ran another great race to finish second behind an easy winner. She so deserves to win a race of her own after a very consistent season and hopefully it'll come before the year is out. The race wasn't without drama though as Cabrini got loose before the race when she bucked Dylan off. Thankfully they were still in the paddock so she could easily be caught.

There might only be just one runner for us this week as Oud Metha Bridge looks unlikely to get into his race at Kempton on Wednesday due to it being oversubscribed. With the weather being so hard to predict at the moment, other trainers seem to just be sticking to the all weather with their horses because at least they know what ground they will get, hence why there are so many entries.

Our only definite runner might be in doubt too as I hope Leicester doesn't get too much of the forecast rain tonight so Spanish Mane can take her chance on Monday. She doesn't mind a little cut in the ground but wouldn't want it soft. She won this race last year and is back down to a good rating so I think she will go very close again if getting the right conditions. It is a race for jockeys who have ridden less than 10 career winners so we have Rose Dawes aboard who has looked good when riding a few winners for her boss Mick Channon this season.
