The N.E.T. Racing Club has been a mainstay of the yard for a long time and down the years they have enjoyed plenty of success with the likes of multiple winners The Ducking Stool and Engrave. We created the Club to give members a taste of racehorse ownership for a very affordable price and part of being an owner is experiencing the ups and downs of racehorses - hopefully more ups than downs! Members had lots to cheer this week after new recruit Grand Duchess Olga got her first win on the board at Chelmsford when given a great ride by Dylan Hogan to win by a head. It was only her third run since joining us and her second place last time was very encouraging and she managed to build upon that to win in gutsy fashion. She is still lightly raced so hopefully there is more to come and she clearly loves the all-weather surface. She is a very tough filly who'll give us plenty of fun. More information on the Club can be found on our OWNERSHIP page. Our pony Bonnie goes racing plenty but is always kept behind the scenes. She got a chance to show herself off this weekend when Sarah's daughter Ella showed her at a local event and she managed to land third place! The £5 prize money is more than some of the racehorses she accompanies win sometimes! Hopefully the horses can land some prize money this week despite just two horses entered. Spanish Mane has had a great season already with two wins on the board but I'm a bit worried that she might be coming to the end of her tether for the season now so we'll see how she goes at Leicester on Monday. She is a course and distance winner so that holds no concerns but we'll just have to see if she still has some petrol left in the tank before going on her winter holidays. The other entry for the week is Notre Dame at Newmarket on Saturday. She has needed her first two runs for experience and this run will qualify her for handicap races which will see her to better effect. Comments are closed.
