We didn't have a winner to show for it but it was a good week of results all round as the team seems to be in good health as they continue to rattle the till with prize money.
Despite only finishing 5th, Engrave ran well in a decent handicap and I think she is ready to win when I can find the right class race for her. She has taken a while to figure out and get 100% fit but she seems to be in the right place now after a few runs. Also owned by Carol Bushnell, Winter Snowdrop ran a career best at Yarmouth to finish second behind an easy winner. She is a filly who has a great attitude and can hopefully be rewarded with a win soon. It was a busy week for Carol as she also went to see Noble Account run at Wolverhampton on Sunday and he too fared well in first time blinkers when finishing fourth.
Elsewhere, Gas Monkey looks like he's coming to the boil now with a great second place finish in a Class 4 handicap at Sandown. He was suffering in the handicap a bit for winning four times last year but he is now dropping to a rating he can win off again.
It looks like it might be a quiet week ahead but we have one great chance at Yarmouth on Tuesday with Spanish Mane. She bounced back to form by winning over the course and distance last time and she is still well handicapped on old form. Jockey Sophie Ralston got a good tune out of her that day so she keeps the ride and hopefully the partnership can remain lucky.
Sea Shack and Limerick Lord have both been entered in the same race at Lingfield on Friday but there are loads of other entries in the race and I doubt either of them will get a run.
