It has been great to enjoy some proper summer-like weather this week and it makes life a lot easier when you can do the work in decent temperatures and pleasant conditions.
Of course it doesn't suit everyone though and we have quite a few soft ground horses who would like some wetter weather but they have had their conditions recently so hopefully it's not long before they can run again as the weather is bound to break at some point.

It was a lovely day at Yarmouth on Wednesday and we saw a decent run from Smokey Malone who finished second behind an easy winner. Spanish Mane is usually very consistent but was a bit disappointing and maybe she doesn't like the firm ground now that she is a bit older and has some wear and tear on her legs.

The first runners of this week come on Tuesday at Lingfield on the turf track.
Lady Clemmie and Corporate Raider have similar ratings and want the same conditions so they find themselves up against each other in this race and it's hard to say who will come out on top.
Corporate Raider has gone close to winning a couple of times since we bought him earlier in the year but he has been disappointing the last twice without an obvious reason. I'm hoping the switch to grass here can perk him up and bring him back to form.
Lady Clemmie is lightly raced and yet to show her true ability. She is a quirky filly who we are still figuring out so this will be a chance for us to learn a bit more about her.

We're back to Yarmouth on Thursday with Here's Sadie entered there. A lot of water has passed under the bridge since she gained her only success at the course two years ago but her rating has fallen a lot as a result. She is more than capable of winning but it is a question of whether she wants to.

Completing the entries will be Queen's Company and Stintino Sunset at Nottingham on Saturday. Both fillies are in great form and would go close to winning if conditions are right but I think it'll be too firm for them to run.
