No winners last week but there wasn't much to complain about as all bar one of our five runners finished in the first four and brought home some prize money. Special mention must go to our amateur jockey Sam who was only having his second ever ride in a race but gave Highway Robbery a very sensible front-running ride to finish third at Wolverhampton on Friday evening. The following day Sea Shack filled the same spot with Limerick Lord coming second and Noble Account fourth at Brighton on Sunday. The one disappointment was new recruit Any Smile who we thought would run better on Saturday at Wolverhampton but it was her first go for us and we learnt plenty about her so there should be better to come in the future. We have put a few horses away for a short break recently to recharge their batteries before the all-weather season so we won't be having as many runners as usual for the next month or so but it will mean that we have some fresher horses for the winter campaign. Hopefully there are still a few more winners to come before then and I think Telekinetic will have a good chance at Bath on Wednesday. She is in great form at the moment and ran a blinder at Yarmouth last time when just bumping into an improving horse and finishing second. A repeat of that would see her go close again. Sir Fred will be heading west with her and he will give it his best shot as usual but I'm not sure if the firm ground is what he wants but there is only one way to find out and that's by trying him on it. We won't be racing again until Saturday at Wolverhampton with another pair of runners. Approve The Dream hasn't quite matched his early season form recently but we have freshened him up a bit and he is going well at home again now. The switch to the all-weather is an unknown but he did run ok on it earlier in his career so fingers crossed he can get back to form. Miss Green Dream is also entered that day and would have a good chance but there are loads of entries and I doubt she will get a run unfortunately. We will be hosting our first ever owners' trip to Burghley Horse Trials this Thursday with a coach leaving the yard at 9.15am and there are still a couple of spaces free if anyone would like to come. The cost of £40 covers the return coach fare and entrance ticket. If you want to come please email [email protected] Four To Follow leaderboardAnn Buy 149
