Washed away

29/9/2019

We're just back from a soggy Epsom where our two runners' chances were washed away with the weather as neither horse handled the heavy ground. It was a shame for Gas Monkey to lose his form as he has had an incredible year with four wins so hopefully he can bounce back soon. Both horses seemed perfectly fine after their runs so they live to fight another day.

The construction work on our new stables is going well, the old ones have been flattened and removed with the bricklayer starting first thing on Monday morning so they should be up in no time I hope.

The week ahead should be very quiet runners-wise with just Alibaba at Southwell on Friday evening. He almost got his first win on the board last time when losing out in a photo finish and the handicapper gave him a rating of 71 after that which I think is about fair. Hopefully he can improve a bit more and I think the track shouldn't be problem for him as he has plenty of early speed which is what you need at that place. He has been working well recently so should be in the mix.
